Daily Operations - Immediate Start
The Creek Gallery & Garden is located on acres of Surf Coast farmland right in the heart of Freshwater Creek. Our gallery and garden is home to locally made metal art, garden sculptures and outdoor essentials and has rapidly become a favorite destination spot for both locals and travelers alike.
We are seeking someone that can take care of the day-to-day operations of The Creek Gallery & Garden in a permanent part-time role. The position requires being on-site five days a week from 9:30am to 4:00pm, with occasional weekend and public holiday work as needed.

Scope of the Role:
Operations
- Open and close the site each day worked
- Fulfill day-to-day tasks across the gallery, garden and retail areas
- Respond to and manage online enquiries (website submissions, email, phone, social messages)
- Handle quoting for products, freight and custom enquiries
- Prepare and process orders for customers locally & interstate
- Coordinate supplier communication and follow up on stock availability and lead times
- Ensure displays, products and sculptures are stocked, priced, labelled and presentable
- Assist with product movement, loading/unloading and storing items
- Monitor and maintain site cleanliness, safety standards and general presentation
- Record and update operational information as required (sales, stock movements, customer details)
Administration
- Perform bookkeeping tasks (Xero/Square reconciliation, invoicing, receipts) with some support as required
- Maintain digital filing, purchase orders and supplier information
- Manage and update a live Excel database (orders, pricing, stock, freight, suppliers)
- Assist with rosters, staff communication and general operational planning
- Provide administrative support to the business owner
Digital & Technology
- Work with a small team to learn, implement and facilitate new technologies and digital tools that improve customer service, stock control, freight management and operational efficiency
- Maintain and improve business systems (website, social media, online orders, inventory and data)
- Identify ways to streamline processes through technology
Customer Service & Sales
- Respond to enquiries and convert them into sales
- Maintain product listings, pricing and website updates
- Assist a wide range of customers — general retail, trades, tourists and collectors — locally, and interstate
- Ensure retail areas are stocked and presentable
Logistics
- Arrange freight, deliveries and quotes
- Use a forklift when required (training provided)
- Perform manual handling and heavy lifting
Who We’re Looking For
Someone who is:
- Organised and confident working independently
- Comfortable using technology and learning new systems
- Able to communicate with customers and suppliers
- Good at problem-solving and juggling multiple tasks
- Capable of physical work when required
- Skilled in Excel or willing to learn quickly
Experience in small business operations, retail, admin, logistics or similar roles is an advantage.
Hours & Reporting
- Permanent part time role; 6.5 hours per day, 5 days a week
- Occasional weekend and public holiday work required
